Level 2 gym instructor Course –

Pre Requisites: Learners must be 16 years or above
YMCA Credits: 21
Duration: 6 Weeks

Day 1 Introduction to the gym, working in a gym environment
Day 2 How to instruct
Day 3 How to prepare a gym session
Day 4 Customised exercise programme instruction
Day 5 Continuous assessment, theory assessments
Day 6 Practical Exam Day

 

 

Please note: To become a Level 3 Personal Trainer you will need this Level 2 qualification.

Breakdown:

Assessment: 1 Practical exam, 1 multiple choice exam, 1 online multiple choice assessment, ongoing continuous practical assessments throughout the course.

Location: Home learning, theory and practical sessions at Rare Fitness Braintree

Tutor: Gracie Cocksedge

Cost: £900

If you require monthly payment scheme of 3 payments of £325, final payment must be made before the final practical exam day.

Overview:

The Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification is one of the entry routes into the fitness industry.  The course itself is popular with gym enthusiasts as well as persons wanting to work in the fitness industry.

Upon competition you will be eligible to apply for a job as a gym instructor in a gym, be able to teach circuit classes, and be able to continue your learning by adding many further qualifications such as Exercise to Music, Cycle Instructor, Personal Trainer, Les Mills instructor and Pilates.

 

YMCA says ‘The purpose of this qualification is to enable learners to develop the knowledge and skills so they can engage, facilitate, educate and support clients in a gym or health club environment’.

You Will Learn To:

Safely use all gym equipment

Instruct others how to use gym equipment

Health and safety in the gym environment

Effectively use and instruct free weights and resistance equipment

Perform a warmup and cooldown

Conduct body weight exercises

Demonstrate suitable etiquette in a gym environment
